In the past two weeks, Gemma has graduated Kindergarten, turned 6 years old, and lost her first tooth.  It’s been a busy and exciting time for her, and I love watching her giggle and smile with joy through it all:)

The week before her birthday, she had a small play-date/party at our house with 5 of her closest school friends.  She is a social butterfly to the max, and is never more happy than when she is surrounded by people (the photo of her with her “number 1’s” in the air, pretty much says it all).  The kids had lunch together, dressed up in costumes, danced, watched part of Wreck it Ralph, and ate ice cream sundaes for dessert.  I was utterly exhausted at the end of the day, but it was worth it to see her happy face:)

Kindergarten graduation was held the day before her actual birthday, and I was such a proud momma.  She looked adorable in her green cap and gown with her flowing red hair.  This year was my last time having a Kindergartener.  Strange.

Gavin and Guini were still finishing up school on her “real” birthday, so she and I spent the day together.  We went to Target to get Starbucks (a caramel frapp) and to spend her birthday money from Grandma and Papa.  Then she picked out a Lunchable and we went home to swim in her crab pool.  I’m pretty sure she will live in her bathing suit for the rest of the summer:)

I love this girl.  She had a fantastic year.  Can’t wait to spend the next year with her and all of her happiness!
