The sisterly duo of MayDae is happy to be back with our Etsy Picks for this week. Although it was refreshing taking last Monday off, we missed it terribly! Since it is now August (how did we arrive here so fast?), it’s time to think about all of the people headed back to school. Whether you’re attending elementary, junior, high, college, or graduate, (or perhaps just know someone who is) we think that you will be able to appreciate our pretty finds.
We always loved the exciting new beginning of a school year. New paper, pencils, shoes, and a sparkly back pack promised to make the year successful, prosperous, and at the very least, manageable. What kind of feelings do you have about these back to school days? Does it bring back memories of nervousness and angst, or happy memories of simpler times?

I always had mixed feelings about returning to school. On one hand, I loved to shop for new school supplies! It’s amazing to me how the scent of crayons has remained exactly the same forever, and how just opening a box takes me back to the front door of my old elementary school. On the other hand, I was always sad to leave my mom and the comforts of home. Though I’m not sure she felt the same way! Thanks for showing off my globe on your beautiful blog.

What great back to school selections from both of you. We LOVE your blog!
One of our favourite back to school rituals was sharpening a fresh box of Laurentian pencil crayons and ordering them based on favourite colours – mmmm loved that peacock blue. The excitement of seeing school friends was always tempered with a melancholy that summer was over. Hints of that feeling are in the air.
Thank you for including our desk in this wonderful array.
