*Day 1
If you follow us on Instagram (@Stephanie_May & @StormieRhoades) you know that we attended the AMC Best Picture Showcase for the past 2 weekends in Westminster, CO. AMC features all of the Best Picture nominated films for that year’s Oscars on 2 consecutive Saturdays. This is our 3rd year in a row going to the showcase, and we LOVE doing it. You really must like and adore movies to do one of these because they are hardcore. The first Saturday we watched 4 movies back to back from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The second Saturday (yesterday) was 5 movies back to back from 11:00 a.m. to 10:40 p.m. Epic right?
Saturday #1: War Horse, Moneyball, The Tree of Life, The Descendants
Saturday #2: Hugo 3D, The Help, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Artist, Midnight in Paris
I’m not going to go into a huge review of all of the movies, but I will tell you the order that I liked them from most to least: Moneyball, Hugo, The Artist, The Help, War Horse, Midnight in Paris, The Descendants, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Tree of Life.
I will definitely watch Moneyball and Hugo again since they are my favorite. The Artist won for Best Picture, and it was really cute. I could not stand The Tree of Life. Weirdest piece of crap movie that I’ve ever watched.
*Day 2 before & after :)
Storm and I had lots of fun, and we would definitely recommend this to any movie lovers. It is a bit expensive – $60 for all the movies, and you get a $10 gift card for concessions. This year, they provided free coffee which was a nice surprise – I had 3 cups:)
AMC BPS, I hope to see you again next February!

Elise – Brad Pitt was in Tree of Life and you didn’t see much about it because it was TERRIBLE!! I think the only reason it was up for Best Picture was because nobody understands what the crap was going on but they wanted to pretend that they did and that it was this great artistic movie…which it wasn’t:-)
The showcase was SO much fun! I was actually surprised at how fast the days seemed to fly by – and the second week was definitely the best one. Can’t wait for next year, hopefully there are some really GREAT films in 2012.
