When I was very young, our claw foot tub scared me. I didn’t like the feet. Then when I was 8 years old, my Grandma showed me The Changling (1980) and I could only take really fast showers for weeks. Now, I would gladly give up showers if I could bathe in one of these everyday:
I want to take care of this tub and nurse it back to health.

We’ll make it happen someday honey.
I’ll put The Changling in our Netflix queue.

I love claw foot tubs. I miss the one from our old house. We had to get it up 2 flights of stairs to install it in our second floor retreat size bathroom. Thanks!

I know where you can get lots of these heavy, iron claw feet. You would just need to provide the tub. :)

My parents had one. My dad loved the size of it. But when he went to put it into his bathroom it didn’t fit. So it became an out side tub for him ( more like his personal pool on those hot summer days, he was so funny). Then he stuck it in the ground so the family ducks had a place to bath. Now its under the ground. I often think about that tub and how I’d love to have it in my bathroom. But Im sure it wouldn’t fit. And I don’t really like the idea of digging it up.

Haha – NOOOO to any movies titled ‘The Changling’!! Pearl, that is so cool about the buried tub! It would be cool to get it out and use it, but at the same time, it would also be cool to leave it just where your Dad put it:)
Oh how I want one….or two….or three! :)

My grandma had one of these tubs, and it was my favorite thing about her house! The tub was so deep and so long that when you put bubble bath into the mix it just swallowed you whole! Thanks for that little trip down memory lane :)

Haha – yes, I think Dave might mind….or your landlord:)
A bubble bath in a claw foot would be sublime! Nice description Jen! :)
