I changed my hair this weekend! There’s something about Spring that always makes me want to try new things with my hair.
It was a longggg 4-step process of stripping out the red, dying the top, bleaching the bottom, and dying the bottom. It took me 3 days to complete, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. I was going for a dip dyed/ombre look. It’s a nice break from the red, and I like that I can change the color of the bottom pretty easily (right now it’s a lavender, pink, purple, periwinkle color). I was wanting the top to be a bit lighter than it turned out, but hopefully it will lighten up over the coming days.
Have you ever dyed your hair an unnatural color? What was it?!

Love it! I dyed mine a bright red but only with a color designed for dark hair – I’m terrified of destroying my hair with bleach. Wish I could go pink though! Miki

In high school i took a bottle of bleach and green hair dye to my hair. I loved every second of it, my grandmom wasn’t a huge fan. She took up a money collection, from my family, at my cousin wedding rehearsal so I would dye my hair back to a natural color. I dappled a few other times, with some purple a couple summers ago. I would love to do it more but I work in the school system, they don’t think very highly of it.

When my younger girls were teens and Mandi was just started out as a hairdresser, I would wake up and find one of them asleep on the couch and I was never sure which one it was because their hair was a different color from when I went to bed. lol There has been blue, pastel green, bright green, pink, purple, etc. I’ve tried many things but tend to stay with red. I think it comes from Brenda Starr a comic book character of my childhood.
