On Saturday Tristan and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary (eeeek!). Every year we try to do something special like stay at a hotel, or at least stay at home just the two of us. This time we stayed in downtown Denver for two nights and the kiddos and Tuppy stayed with my parents (thanks mom and dad!) and we had a fantastic time. There’s just something about staying at a hotel that feels so wonderful and decadent – even if it’s located only 30 minutes from your house. Our favorite things to do on our anniversary excursions are eat, sleep, and shop. Really, that’s all we want to do! Our hotel had a fully equipped kitchen, so we were able to cook anything we wanted in case we couldn’t find any good paleo options in restaurants. We did okay though, and had lebanese food, wings, and asian food. It was all sooooo yummy! We also visited two of my favorite coffee places (Crema & Novo) and shopped, shopped, and shopped some more. We both really wanted and needed to look for new clothes in smaller sizes (yay for paleo weight loss!) which is fun, but also expensive at the same time. So glad that we were able to find some after Christmas clearance.
One of the things I wanted to do was take photos of the two of us. Nothing fancy, just a few quick ones that represent this year. I LOVE how they turned out, and I had a really hard time choosing which ones to show you, so here are a ton of them:
Happy anniversary Tristan. Let’s stay together forever okay? ♥

so, i just found your blog while searching for real life “paleo” stories, and have to say a big CONGRATULATIONS! your transformations are amazing! also, congrats on 12 years or marriage. and lastly, congratulations on the proper phrasing of “12th wedding anniversary” vs. “12 year anniversary” which drives me nuts. thanks for sharing your inspiring story!
