I’ve run out of clever ‘tights’ titles.

I started out looking for DIY ideas for the Fall season – but then I stumbled across a delicious pair of DIY embellished tights, and it was all over from there.  This will not be the only post concerning the sheer beauty of leg covering for this incredibly chilly season as Stephanie May and I have already talked about tights here, here and here.  It’s a weakness, it absolutely can’t be helped.

On my list of things to do this Fall is to embellish some tights with pretty things.  I found these awesome tutorials:

Super sparkly embellished tights DIY

Beaded tights DIY                                        Painted hearts DIY

Bridal trim DIY                                                 Miu Miu swallow tights DIY

{Source 1, Source 2, Source 3}

I think the above tights would be way too hard as a DIY…these are just tights I wish to own:)  I am so excited to pull out my tights and start wearing them more – especially since I have recently acquired a few new dresses that they will go perfect with.

***Don’t forget – the sale in our shop is still going on, but only until 11pm MST tonight – so head over and buy yourself something pretty!***

I ♥ Fall.

Coffee and a birthday.

9.29.2011 by Stephanie May under Food

If you’ve ever read our blog, you know that Stormie and I really love coffee.  Like, a lot.  And that is why I was happy to hear that today is National Coffee Day (turns out, it’s every year on September 29th – who knew?).  A whole day of nothing but thinking/talking about how wonderful coffee is?  Yes!  Pinterest board depicting my favorite coffee photos?  Done.  Several large cups of coffee in my tummy?  Done.  Plans to drink more coffee throughout the day?  Done and done.  This day is going to magical and a little bit hyper:)

Ironically, today is also our brother Rocky’s birthday!  It’s ironic because he doesn’t like coffee at all (weird I know, but we still love him).  Happy Birthday Rocky!

Weekend wedding part deux.

9.29.2011 by Stormie Dae under Fashion,Garden,Hair,Home decor,Love,Travel

I know you have all be anxiously awaiting more photos from the wedding I was in last weekend.  My cousin, Elise, got married!  Unfortunately, there was so much work going on, I didn’t get a ton of photos – specifically since I was in the wedding and had to get photos taken OF me instead of the other way around.  Here is what I did manage to get (and also a few by Bre who I roped into photographing some of the ceremony for me):

The venue was absolutely gorgeous and we had perfect weather.

Love the ‘gift truck’….so cute – and I wanted to bring it home!

Pretty wildflowers.

Pretty bride.

So many phone calls for the bride.

Pretty tattoo and pretty bridesmaids.

Awwwwwww….

My cousin, Ross, and I strutting our stuff.

Father and daughter – so gorgeous.

Party time!

I didn’t write this note – but I agree fully with what it says.

The cousins…sort of the coolest South Dakotians I know.  There was a better photo of Ross and I – but it just wouldn’t be the same unless I posted his standard “I’m going to mess this photo up” face.

Congrats Matt and Elise!  Make up the spare bedroom…I’m coming back to visit next week!  That’s okay…..right??

I had a good day…

9.27.2011 by Stephanie May under Inspiration, kids

…with this girl:)  I am blessed to be a stay-at-home mom.  Yes, sometimes it is hard, and sometimes I feel like I don’t get anything “important” done during the day.  MayDae and Fibbie are HUGE creative outlets for me, as well as music and singing, and a DIY project here and there.  But my main focus right now are my 3 kids.  I am completely aware that I only get these human beings for a short period of time, and then they will be off –  to college, far away places, and with their own families living out their personal love and dreams.  I’m so happy to be a big part of their young lives, and so happy that someday I too will have the chance to go off to my list of far away places, and live out my own dreams once again.

I started a board on Pinterest this week called “My Dreams“; I hope to add lots and lots of dreams (goals, visions, hopes) that are perfectly mine.  All mine.

Weekend wedding.

9.26.2011 by Stormie Dae under Fashion,Love

This was supposed to be my post for Friday…but I was staying in a house with no WiFi all weekend so I couldn’t really post anything.  As I mentioned, I went to South Dakota for my cousin’s wedding over the weekend.  It was in a small town near Aberdeen, SD – where I visited last year around this same time.  I had a blast.  For today, I will just share from the couple days leading up to the wedding and we’ll save wedding photos for Wednesday:

Fun times at bridal showers…

Such a beautiful venue.

The biggest ring ever!

Happy couple.

The BA band photo.

Rehearsal time.

Sparkly shoes.

Yay for fun weddings!  More photos to come…

Love.

South Dakota bound.

9.21.2011 by Stormie Dae under Travel

Today is Friday for me and thank goodness, because I don’t think I can take much more.  The past week or so has been CRAZY and I am in desperate need of a vacation.  My sweet cousin, Elise – my dearest La Prima, is leaving me in singlehood dust and getting married on Saturday!  I will admit I am just the teeniest bit jealous…not of the guy of course, because that would be creepy – no offense Matt.  But I am honored to stand in her wedding and it will be so good to see family.  I think things will be crazy there too, like any wedding is – but it will be really great to get away from work for awhile, at least for the weekend and I can barely contain my excitement about seeing my La Prima again, after almost a year.  That’s too long Elise, you hear me almost-married-lady?

The above two photos could be twins.

Isn’t she the loveliest?  So full of joy at all times – she makes me happy.  Can’t wait to see you in a few hours Elise!

I am heading to the airport in an hour…love the airport – so excited to fly on the 16 passenger puddle jumper, truly – I am going to thoroughly enjoy it.

Happy Wednesday loves!

Work weekend.

9.19.2011 by Stormie Dae under Fashion,Food,MayDae Giveaway,Our Etsy Shop

Hello lovelies!  I hope your weekend was absolutely fabulous and you’ve jumped into this week completely  ready to go and full of energy!  …you didn’t?  Yeah, me neither.

My weekend was pretty fantastic though – I got SO much done which is always good and even though I was working the entire weekend, it was good to cross important things off my list.  I am hoping to clear  my entire to-do list before I leave for my cousin’s wedding on Wednesday.  Wish me luck!

Although I was busy busy for the last few days, there is always time to snap a few Instagr.am photos, yeah?  Here is my partial weekend in Instagr.ams – the rest of it I was too focused to stop for photos…that or I was sitting and working in the same place for more hours than it’s possible to come up with fun photos for.

Packing up two of my favorite items from our shop that were purchased by the same person.  Overjoyed that they get to stick together!!  Aren’t they so pretty?

Mosquito bite.  On my face.  The lame thing about this (besides the fact that it’s huge and on my face and I was on my way to a baby shower, of course) is that I felt the mosquito but my hands were full so there was nothing I could do.

My kitchen table-turned-workspace for the entirety of the weekend.  This was the “clean” point before I really started working.

After 3+ hours of video editing, I decided that putting on some fake glasses would make me feel more productive and sophisticated – which is always a bonus when you’re working from home.  They also make me super serious.

1am Sunday morning brought on coughing and a very sore throat – but instead of going to sleep and bringing a halt to my editing (which was going very well), I made tea which lasted me til 3am.  Yay tea!

Do you ever buy something and bring it home, only to forget you bought it and then you find it later?  Well, I don’t ever do that…except for when I do that all the time – specifically when it’s something bought at a thrift store.  It probably has something to do with me being too lazy to clean anything purchased at a thrift store right away so I leave it in the bag and then forget about it.  I bought these pretty, pretty plates 2 weeks ago and just found them while doing laundry.  So excited to use them – they are my new favorite!

In case you missed yesterday’s post – we were way overdue for a giveaway so make sure you comment here to win some lovely vintage goodness!
